Question:

Continuous mode camera help!?

I recently bought a canon powershot A470 and I would like to know how the continuous mode is used. If i go to manual, and then to burst mode, there's an option that shows like a pile of photos one behind another, I think that's the continuous mode option but then when I press the button it only takes one photo and then saves it, and i have to wait some time before I can take another one, even if i keep the shoot button pressed.

Anybody knows how to do this?? Thanks :)!

  1. The Canon PowerShot A470 is only able to take 1.9 fps until the card fills up. There are a number of reasons that could cause the camera to slow the continuous frame rate.

If the flash is on then turn it off. The flash needs time to recharge and can delay the re-release of the shutter.

If the shutter speed is slower than 1/2 second then there isn't enough time for the camera to work. Pump up the ISO or bring the camera into an environment with adequate lighting.

If the card is not fast enough then the camera may have trouble emptying the buffer. Try reducing the quality (Normal or Basic instead of Fine) or the resolution of the JPEGs.

  2. Are you using the flash with those shots?  If you are, then it might be waiting for the flash to repower.  Try it with the flash off if you haven't already, see how that goes.

  3. turn off the lcd screen

    look through the viewfinder

    it should help alot
