hey, about 7 months ago i was put on Dianette especially for my skin. In this time i can safely say its one of the best decisions ive made simply because my skin is a lot better and it controls my periods which i also had a lot of trouble with at the time. In saying this though im starting to become a little wary of some weight gain, and as a consequence im starting to feel a bit down by it. My mums started saying that "the pill makes you gain weight" etc which i know isnt true it just increases your appetite but her saying this has started to make me think ohhh is it noticeable?! etc. Im not overweight but im at the end of the normal bmi scale for my height so im already concious of my weight as it is. I was just wondering if anyone has ever had this or similar and could give some ideas of what eating and exercise habits make a difference? i need a bit of guidance really. and if anyones ever used this pill it would be lovely to hear from you, thankyou :)

  1. The hormones that the pill releases can make you gain weight even if your eating and exercise habits stay the same.

Eating lots of fresh fruits and veggies rather than carbs or meat and being as active as possible are the best ways to control your weight.

  2. The pill affects women differently. Some women gain weight, some women lose weigh and some stay the same. It's all in how your body reacts to the hormones. The best thing for you to do is eat as healthy as possible, consume a limited calories for your age and keep active. By the way, the most women gain on the pill is less then five pounds, so it's not like you'll gain a hundred pounds on the pill. Trust me!

  3. I never gained weight while I was on the pill. I did however loose alot, but not because of it. I started walking about an hour at least 5 times a week and eventually jogging a little. Also going to the gym and changing my eating habits. I dont think you need togo to the gym though if you take up walking/jogging. Most people have to work out about an hour a day to loose and watch what you eat. You should still have what you want, its ok to indulge and if you dont you will go crazy, just dont over indulge. Watch your portions, eat lots of fruits and veggies and drink buckets of water! Good Luck.

  4. My girlfriend is on birth control and although it isn't the same one as yours, the concept is similar. It's likely that the hormones are causing your body to retain more water or as some people call it, bloat. This is normal and at a young age it isn't unhealthy either.
