Contributions to a 401k?

Besides the contributions that are made directly from your paycheck and your employer, can you make a contribution yourself? Like send a check to the company for a contribution? I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.

  1. You wouldn't want to if you could.

The contributions from your pay and from your employer are both PRE tax.

Any money that you added, if you could, would be money that was from your net, after tax income!  Later, you would pay tax on it!!
