Control panel cover falling apart

Question

The touch panel plastic cover over each switch located on the door edge are starting to fall apart and exposing the switches on my Kitchen Aid dishwasher (KUDS01FLSS5). The dishwasher is still functional, but I am concerned that one day some water will get into it and short it out. The dishwasher is about 4 years old and the control panel is still under warranty, but covers parts only not labor. Kitchen Aid wants me to have a Kitchen Aid certified repairman to come out and diagnose and repair the panel and they will pay for the part. However I don't want to pay $150 service charge when I can probably do it myself. Is it easy to change the control panel? Does anyone have instructions on how to do this? I am pretty handy at fixing stuff. Thanks.
