Conure behavior?

Question

i went to the pet store yesterday and there where 2 conures in two different cages. one of the conures kept on "following" me. when i would move to the other side of the room, he would too. and whenever i talked to him he would "sqwak". when i put my hand in his cage, he would bite me but he would to some other people in there. is this affection or why was he doing this??? i JUST ''met'' him

It's some combination of interest, affection, and desire for attention.  It's not clear why - birds have their own reasons for liking people.  Sometimes you can tell why (e.g., this bird likes tall blonde women, or dislikes people who smoke), sometimes you can't.
