Question:

Conures, no salt?

I am reading a lot of the postings and some suggest to feed scrambled/boiled eggs, cooked pasta and soup as a snack. I also read that salt is bad. So if I cooked any of the above with salt in them fo myself, would it be a bad idea to give some of it to my bird as well? Would it be better to cook a little bit apart from mine without the salt?

  1. A little salt wouldnt hurt on occassion. I give my birds a potato chip now and then. But 99% of the time they get no salt.  My Conures prefer fruits and vegetables,7 grain wheat bread, and a little popcorn (no salt). Mine never would eat egg or pasta.

  2. I wouldn't say that they can have NO salt.  Just don't overdue it.  Instead of feeding them table food, why not go with Forti-Diet Egg-Cite Conure & Lovebird Food (a well balanced and tested diet)?
