Question:

Conversion help (clarification)?

Here's the question: If one gram of pure water occupies one cm^3, then how many grams of water will fit in a container that is 0.15m x 0.60m x 0.25m? If one liter is equal to 1000 cm^3, how many liters will this be?

I'm guessing the first step is to find the volume of the container and then convert that to cm^3. Once you have the volume, you can find the amount of water that is needed to fill the container. And then you just divide whatever that amount is by 1000 to find out how many liters can fit, right?

I'm just looking for some clarification on whether or not this is the right direction to take in solving this.

  1. you can first convert those meters in cm, 0.15m = 15cm, i think this is easier.

then multiply its sides and you'll get the containers volume in cm^3

you divide the result with 1000(that's 1L) and you get the quantity of water fitting in the container.

  2. no, the formula if you will, is incorrect, sorry try again

  3. you are correct.
