  1. 1 joul/sec =1 watt

    James Watt defined hoursepower as 550ftxlb/sec (his definition ).1meter = 100/2.54x12=3.28 feet , 1 kg= 453.59237 grams.So 550(1/3.28)x0.45359237/sec)=76.06kg(mass...

    then 76.06 x 9.81 =746.14 kg(force)x meter/sec

    1 kg(force)x 1 meter = 1 newton and 1Nx 1meter = 1 joul is the defenition

  2. you multiply 1 by 745.7

if you wanted to convert 21341hp into watts, you would multiply 21341 by 745.7

    Pretty simple dude.

    Dunno WTF "dimensional method" means.

  3. Horsepower has the same unit as a watt anyway (depending on the definition).
