Ok so im thinking about buying a GeForce 9800 GTX+ or a GeForce 8800 GT and i looked over it and i think my computer (HP Pavilion a6500f PC stock) meets all the requirments but the moniter i curently use only has the option for a VGA cable (yes its old but i dont want to buy a new one). Both of these graphics cards only appear to have 2 DVI ports and 1 HDTV/S-Video port. I was wondering what the best (cheapest colution) is to make my moniter work with this card because when i did some research into a converter all i found was a converter from VGA to DVI-A. Im not sure if this has the same plug or not but if it does tell me cause that could work. The only other thing i found that converted it to DVI-D cost almost $300 and i dont want to pay that much. So basically im asking whats the best way to convert a VGA cable to work for one of these cards (maybe its easyer to convert it to a S-Video plug) ?

  1. The best way is u should buy new lcd monitor that have DVI connector. Because your graphic card is great enough to play high detail games and it should connect using DVI connector. Just save some money, get the new monitor.

  2. newegg.com has adapters.  You might try radio shack if your in a time crunch.
