Convert from petrol to LPG

how much would it cost to convert a petrol range rover to LPG ? thanks

a whole bunch my friend. the carb system would need changed, the fuel tank system converted, probably the exhaust sytem, electronics converted to work with it.

depends on car and where you are and what your like diy wise, just finished my rangie off and cost me 500 quid and took about 2 days (being slow and careful as first one i had done) self fit kits range from about 500 to 1000 pounds depending on what car you have. getting it fitted for you costs between 1000 to 2000 depending on car, pays for self in no time if you do a few miles my fuel bill will drop from 80 quid a week down to 36.

ps you dont change carbs or fuel tanks and pipes just add additonal tank and extra pipes you can run on petrol again at a flix of a switch if you cant find a garage with lpg

cost about £1500.oo  ,down side you will loose spare wheel space because gas tank goes ther also you still need petrol to start first thing or when its cold ,also insurance company will ask if ther is any modifacations which that will cost a bit more they say that you have to do about 15000 miles a year for it to benifical

Be careful the Chancellor doesn't suddenly up the duty on LPG, he will one day!  It also does cause some problems with engines, it can accelerate exhaust valve wear, and causes cylinder-head porosity!  Also, bear in mind how I have seen three LPG-equipped vehicles on fire in recent years.

Safe professional conversion - a grand maybe.  before you think too hard on this you may want to consider the areas that you normally drive in and see how many stations have an LPG pump!
