Converting 97 Acura Integra from non vtec to vtec

Question

Yes i would like to know if it is worth converting my acura from non Vtec to vtec. And what are all the parts i will need to do this. Also how much more hourse power will i get from a vtec to a non vtec

I don't think it's really worth it, I'd rather save my money for turboing.

youll need vtec head from the the b18c or b16...b16 is prefered due to the better air flow...vtec harness or route a vtec wire...the vtec ecu....arp head studs....pull out the oil pin in the ls block for oil to run to the vtec head....b16 or b18c head gasket...b16 timing belt...b16 air manifold....aftermarket cams....titanium valves, springs and retainers...bigger injectors....power will depend on how its built....but remember lsvtecs arent so realiable...maybe just get a complete vtec swap would be easier.....

what your trying to do is called an "LsVtec"

now if u have mechanical skills to where u can do your own head gasket then you might be able to do this.

When built correctly your motor will have about a 30-40 hp gain that u will notice the very first time u jump in.your car.

If you have not built engines before your better off saving up for a nice turbo kit for the ls or a gs-r motor (b18c1)
