Question:

Converting CD to mp3 file...?

Thanks Cool! I've known how to rip CD's for a while (that's pretty easy)! LOL!

The tricky thing was (for some reason) I had to send the music files of one particular CD I'm adding to my music myspace to the desktop. After clicking on the browse button in myspace to try to add a file, I noticed that this CD I had just ripped was not in my music menu and was also no where to be found under "desktop". This is a mystery to me as the other CD's I had ripped (in MP3 format) were there.

This CD was not commercial but recorded/mastered in a small studio. (Perhaps this is why the files were not found)???

Anyway, after experimenting a little, in WMP, what seemed to work after ripping the CD was:

1. Getting out of the "rip" screen and going to my album library page

2. right clicking on the album/files I wanted then clicking "open file location"

3. In the open file location screen, right clicking on track I wanted to add

4. Sending the track(s) to my desktop as "shortcuts"

  2. are you wanting to go from a cd to mp3 files?

if using windows xp, or vista windows media player will do this

  3. I Don't like anything from Microsoft....But I have to say Windows Media is d**n good at doing this....

It took me average of only about 2 minute and 30 seconds to rip entire CD to mp3 format.

and the best thing about is is you can make it AUTO ripping after a CD is inserted and auto pop the CD Tray out when done.

I rip 31 CDs into WMA or MP3 format in 90 minutes, I just need to pop a new CD in everytime the CD tray HIT my leg. (because it was set to auto pop cd out when done)  LOL.

Before you rip your first CD.

    Please do the following:

    Tools

    Options

    under  "Rip Settings"

Format :  choice MP3 in the drop done menu

Make sure "Copy protect music" is UNCHECKED !!

(If you select mp3 this should be automatically uncheck for you)

    and check both

    "Rip CD when inserted"

"Eject CD When ripping is completed"

    Audio Quality should be minimum of 128 kbps;

192 to 256 kbps is recommanded.

    Click on Apply when done.

  4. 1.Insert your Disc in CDROM/DVDROM.

    2.Open Windows Media Player.
