Converting Old Audio CD player to MP3 Player is possible?

My old Pioneer CD player is supporting only audio CD, is it possible to modify and can play other format CDs? Is it expensive and what are the components to be replaced?

  2. It is remotely possible, but it would not be worth the effort.  There is no easy way to modify your CD player to play CD's burned with MP3's.

  3. Not a chance. An old CD player will not have any of the decompression software necessary to play MP3s, and you cannot reprogram them. You would have to replace ALL the electronics, and fitting new electronics into the existing case would be almost impossible.

    Just buy an MP3 player!
