Converting VHS to DVD (May the best answer get points) :)?

Hey all,

There is a wealth of information online and in previous answers. I would love to hear peoples personal experiences on what the better route may be. I don't have anything priceless so quality is not a huge issue. Should I go with a DVD recorder or get a capture card for my Mac. Most of the info I found was for PCs. Kudos if anyone can find a good Mac alternative. The main question I would like answered is, if I decide to go with the DVD/VHS recorder, is there a way to edit out commercials and content, or is it one straight run from start to finish. Thanks for all who are reading this.

this website is what i used to do mine. you can edit out the commercials with any video editing software once you have the VHS in a video file. i used the imovie software that is included. real easy
