Converting avi to dvd problem. Need help.?

Question

whats a good program that can convert my avi files (i have like 500 of them) to mpeg or somekind dvd format. ?

I need to take my episodes of a show i have, onto a dvd for a friend. but im having trouble putting it there. Is there any converter that converts multiple videos and does a good job?

And after i convert or whatever how do i put it on the dvd, do i just drag the mpeg to the dvd and burn it?

You just use a DVD Creator to burn them to DVD.

I know a appl named Wondershare Video to DVD Burner, it can it can combine your video files into video slideshows with beautiful transition effects and a customizable menu, I think it is a different from other DVD Creators.
