  1. As well as the engine you will need a compatible transmission, new exhaust system, possibly the wiring will need modifying, also the suspension will almost certainly need different springs.

Maybe it would be easier to buy a car that left the factory with a V6.

  2. Why would you do such a dumb thing????

  3. Not sure why you would want to change to a V6.If this is a chevy your talking about, the V8 is a better choice. The parts are cheaper and is a stonger engine.

  4. I saw your other question about the steering wheel, so I guess we're talking '68 Impala, right? These never came with a V6, but some had a straight 6. However, a 4.3 liter from an S10 might not be to difficult too swap in. You may have to make your own motor mounts or redrill the frame holes, but otherwise this fantastic little engine is just 3/4 of a small-block Chevy V8. It's too short to suck air through the radiator, so use an electric fan. Try an Edelbrock 600 cfm for a carburetor. I had one on a similar sized Buick V6 and it worked great. Good luck, have fun and send pictures of it in to Hot Rod Magazine when you're done!

  5. What kind of car?  Is it a V6 motor that is also available in that car model?
