If you want you can include one game from this season as well

  1. USA vs USSR- February 22, 1980

Simply because it was a miracle!

  2. When the Flyers made the Soviets cry and leave the ice!!!!

  3. If I wanted to convert someone into a Devils fan, a recent game I would bring them to is the Devils v. Montreal game two seaons ago where the Devs came back 0-3 by scoring 4 regulation goals to take the Atlantic.

Or to the Devils' 2000 Stanley Cup game after Jason Arnott scored the Cup winner in double OT.

And definitely the 1980 Miracle on ice game.  Even if a non-fan doesn't understand the difficulty of beating a team like Russia, they would be really into the game because of the Cold War at the time.  They would want the US to win, just because of the tension between them and the Soviet Union.  Also, the atmosphere in the building would totally convert a someone.

  4. 1980 Olympic game between USA  & USSR

  5. The game between the Flyers and Penguins where they reached 5 overtimes before Primeau scored.

This way, they get to experience playoff intensity between 2 rival franchises in an extended game where either team could have came out victorious.

Heck, i'd throw in the Dallas Stars vs San Jose Sharks 4 overtime game also.

Most playoff overtime games are memorable and really brings out the best hockey has to offer!

  6. Teal Town- You are going to show them USA vs Finland?

I would think you would want the game before that against USSR.... just my take.

  7. LMAO Jay, "They call him psycho! Johhny who?!?! TAVARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

OK, that said Miracle On Ice would have to be it, but I'd also show soemthing more recent. As a Sabres fan it would have to be some sweet 10-1 win from this past season.

  8. I agree with the Miracle on Ice. 1980 USA vs. USSR

  9. If I wanted to convert AN AMERICAN into a hockey fan Miracle On Ice

A Canadian: Game 8 of the 1972 Summit Series

    Sabres Fan: Game 1 2006 Playoffs Rd 2 Sabres/Sens

    Sabres win 7-6 in OT

Back and fortha ll gm Roy and Connolly playin their brians out, Ottawa takes the lead on 5seperate occasions only for us to knot it each time. S

Down 5-4 we tie it w/1:36 left as Roy scores SH but like 20sec later Smolinski scores on the same PP. Still we don't go down and the last hurrah for Connolly (he suffers the concussion 44sec in Game 2) as he scores w/7sec left. In OT 18sec in Drury scores ripping a slapshot past Emrey and we take Gm 1.

Who's on the avatar is it Stemhus?

edit: Steenhuis. I was in the neighborhood. Not a hiuge bandits fan but know some. At least I speel Tavares correct. LOL

  10. in history: 1980 Olympics: U.S. vs. Soviet Union

this season: Sharks vs. Stars 4th OT game

  11. 1980 Olympics  USSR VS USA  (probably the most meaningful game in the history of sports)

this season - winter classic, even though my Sabres lost, it was still an awesome time and experience.

    BUFFALO WHAT!!!??  BANDITS!!

  12. any buffalo sabres game should do it

  13. Sharks vs. Stars

    Game 6

  14. make sure you're all sitting down

my brother DOESN'T know who Sidney Crosby is, actually i don't think any of my friends or family do

    Wayne Gretzky? who??

it would be pointless, he doesn't even like sport of any kind

  15. sharks stars game 6 of the second round

  16. USA/USSR 1980.No need to go on.

BTW Jay-Gary Gait and Paul Gait.Best lacrosse players EVER!W-I-N-G-S Wings....Thats Philly Wings people.

  17. I would take them to the wild vs blackhawks game when bouchard did his spinarama move in the shootout!

that was amazing i was right there on the glass and i will never forget that game and it was so exciting!!

but that isnt the best game in the history of hockey

  18. Montreal comes back from an 0-5 deficet against NY Rangers.

or The Super Series Canada vs. USSR

I wouldn't choose Miracle on Ice cuz I'm Canadian and that game doesn't mean as much to me as it would to an American

  19. I would show him/her the 1980 US Olympic Gold Medal Game. Then they would see hockey at it's best.

  20. Stars/Sharks Round two, game 6.

I've only been a hockey fan for about 4 or 5 years, but hands down the best goalie performance I have ever seen from two teams.
