Converting vhs to dvd~using computer?

hi, we have all the hardware we need, a vcr, and the little box that plugs into the computer...however, when we play it, it comes up kind of pixilated and squeeky on the computer screen... have loaded it to computer and burned it, and plays back the same as what you see on the computer...any tips for smoothing it out?? thanx!

  1. I had the same problem. I bought a tv tuner and once I converted to dvd, the picture was awful and the words didn't match the picture. I think that's just how it is. Sorry


  2. Were you converting a purchased video or home movie? When recording a purchased video the copy protection protects itself from be recorded through RCA cables. If you are converting home movies and its showing like this then you are either using USB which is too slow unless you have a speedy pc or your hard drive buffer/system memory isn't big enough to handle the transfer.
