I cut my vacation short because Milo was going to be home alone when I found out my neighbor(who was keeping an eye on him) had to go to an unplanned business trip.

My kids get punished when they make noise if he's sleeping downstairs.

He loves going on small car rides with us.

He expects a hug or sweet talk every time he passes by.

Can you do better than that?

  1. I don't have a cat but my friend does:

    1. She tucks him in at exactly 12:00 noon and tucks him in before they go to bed.

    2. She bought him a canopy bed with his initials engraved in EVERYTHING he owns...

    3. She takes him everywhere she goes in a small bag with his name engraved with hers and a heart above it.

    4. She throws him huge birthday parties with like 30 cats and everything she would do for a baby.

    5. She brushes his teeth every morning and night and gives him daily baths.

    6. She calls him her son

I'll ask her about the other things though...

  2. I'm concerned that you punish your kids for making noise while the cat sleeps. My cats sleep through all kinds of noise.  My cats are all healthy and happy so that shows I care.  I don't have to resort to ridiculousness to prove it.

  3. I have seven cats each get stake to eat. They get the furniture, we all have to set on the floor. I took them on vacation with me because I couldn't bear the thought of them being at home alone. I quit my job because the owner hated cats. I don't choose the channels on my tv my cats do. They love watching the animal channel and cooking channel. My cats even have their own bedroom with all separate beds.

  4. my cat loves to takes baths! my room basically belongs to him! he gets treats before bed each night! he tells me when its time to go to bedin 'his bed'! he has his own baby blanket! he has his own pillow! he gets to sleep on 3/4 of the bed! i trained him to sit, stay, lie,& walk on a leash!he got to come to school w/ me once! many more things too!

  5. This past May was 17 years since I worked in a pet shop back in Philly. ~ When I got to the store to open up in the morning,I found a box in front of the door that was meowing,I opened it up and found a tiny little black hairball that was too young to be taken from her mommy. I took her in and bottle fed her some canned kitten milk, took her back and forth between home and work for a couple weeks until she was strong enough to be adopted out...couldn't do it. I still have her,her name is BooBoo Kitty, she has slept with me EVERY night since then, sits on my lap every chance she gets. She even says "mom-mom" (seriously). I take her for short car rides also(with a sweater on in winter),she likes to sit on my lap and look out the window. lol I'm not sure if she thinks I gave birth to her or she gave birth to me......

  6. LOVE is relative.

Have you ever heard of  The love language?

      - every person has a different measure of love. Your love language maybe time, my love language maybe service or physical touch...etc.

    - I would think the same is true for cats... I have had 7 cats and I guarantee to you that not one of them had the same personality or the same way of expressing their joy.

I am on a 2 month vacation - I spent all of my vacation days with my cat. But that does not mean you love your cat less as you spend a few days away from it compared to me.

Bottom line,  I am appreciative of the fact that you love your cat. I do hope that more and more people will be like you.
