How can I convince my parents to move us, closer to where I can get the better acting jobs...I got offered a signing with a MAJOR agency in LA.... CESD the same a lot of major stars are on...

But the problem is, my parents DO NOT want to move, and I just got a agent here, but it's not as big as cesd seriously that could help me way more...and money is not the problem we have enough money...They just DO NOT want me to be an actress they hate it, they think its dumb..It's not like I don't get good acting jobs they're just dead set on NOT letting me act. they want to be a lawyer but thats not what I want... ANYWAYS.

What should I do? I can't wait till i turn 18 because this is a once in a life time opportunity... What can i do?

sorry if its too long

  1. You can't do anything about it and your parents are right.

  2. Congratolations!!!!!!you are very lucky!!!!

Tell your parents that this is your dream, and if you are a lawyer you wont be happy with your life cause that is not what you wanted to be, its not your dream its theirs! And that people can Be sucsseful in diffrent ways. You are right it is a once in a life time opportunity! Tell them what you are feeling! Maybe they will change their minds!

    Good Luck!

  3. Well I think that you should just stay where you are for this up coming school year do plays, take classes , do workshops, build your resume ect. t

Then you said that your family has plenty of money so you should go to young actors camp in LA I wanty to go next year too anyways they have a program that if you go to the seniors camp and you like it you can do this invitation to la thing where you go to LA for like 2 mmonths during the school year and you live under there care , they give you a nany to live with and a teacher and t

you room with the other kids in the program ..................so while ur there you can go to auditions and sych its a great oppertunity go to there website ( youngactorscamp.com) to learn more , the info for 2008 summer camp is still up but the 2009 info should be uip soon so just keep cheacking it but while you waut you can read all about the invitation to LA  ..... I wANT TO GO NEXT SUMMER TOO SO IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS EMAIL ME!!!  -GRACE  (BEST ANSWER??)

  4. Ask CESD if you absolutely HAVE to move to LA to be signed with them. I don't think you do because a person from my acting school is signed with CESD and Stewart (in Chicago). If there's a job to audition for down there, you can fly out. At our age, there aren't as many parts as there are for adults, so I don't think you'll be auditioning every week or anything.

If CESD does say you need to move out, ask them if they can call an agency near you and refer you to them - then you can audition for THAT agency and you have the added bonus of "being referred" which means you're more likely to get into the agency close-by. That's what I've had done for me before.

  5. Beg!!!
