Convince my parents?!?!?

Question

i want to get my nose, tongue, lip, and my cartilage pierced. my mom is okay with my cartilage, but with my nose, lip, and tongue, my mom AND dad say i have to wait until i'm older.my dad says i cant get a piercing other than my ears until I'm either 16 or 18.my mom says the same thing! how do i convince my parents to let me get at least ONE of these piercings before i graduate! i also asked my mom if i could get my nose piercing for my 15th birthday,but she didn't say anything. i know your gonna say that I'm too young to be wanting these piercings, but don't tell me that because my parents already say that.

welll 1st too many percings in my opinion, make women less attractive and then also wait a year, ask friends and random people, but myopian is just go for the cartilage and nose

Well, your parents are right. Your too young to want those piercings and also you shouldn't want all those piercings! The only body part that should be pierced is ears on women! People look freaky when anything else is pierced, so don't make yourself look like that, please.

EWWWWWWW please please please do not do this to your body. all these piercing's are going to make you look disgusting. Who would want to kiss a girl with a lip and tongue ring? The boys might be afraid they are going to get cut.  Ears are fine, and maybe the belly button, but the lip nose and tongue??? DISGUSTING!!!

don't get piercings. you'll look ugly. no offense. listen to them. it looks deformed. unless you're a goth, emo, punk etc...

do research about all of these piercings and figure out all you need to know, how to clean them, how long they take to heal...all of that stuff, and show it to your parents and tell them you are responsible enough and that you know the effects it can have, and what to do if it gets infected, and that you will take care or it.

don't push it on them to hard though, because they might change their mind about letting you get it when your either 16 or 18,,and they may think you wont want them in a year or so, so just wait and see if you still want them, because you don't want scars all over your face :)

So...you said don't say you're too young but let me just say this, I'm 19 currently but when I was 13 or 14 I wanted my ears pierced all the way up, my belly button, my nose and my tongue. My parents let me get my ears pierced 3 piercings each side from the bottom up and they said no the top of my ears and the other piercings I wanted weren't gunna happen. I've been in the same situation, so here's what I did...I made a deal with my parents for my ears I wanted the cartilage pierced up on top and I wanted the industrial ear piercing (which hurts!) I told them I would pay for it and agreed that I would get all A's in school for a semester. Plus do chores around the house and the hardest thing...back then for me was just being NICE! I was a rebellious and really mean kid to deal with! My parents agreed. You have to show you're responsible enough. So I pulled it off, got my ears done! At age 15 almost 16 I got my belly button done. I had kept up all those things I agreed to. Now as for the nose and tongue, my parents never really let that one happen. By the time I turned 17 though I had a fake ID and I could have gotten them but by that age I had already taken out most of my piercings cause I didn't like them. Luckily no ugly scars. No, actually I do have an ugly scar on my belly button b/c I had it done 3 times! First time it got infected then got infected again then what finally made me not get it again was when it ripped out jumping over a fence! I told you a was a bad kid! I'm now 19 almost 20 and I am so glad I never got any piercings on my face other than my ears. Right now you think you are 100% sure you wants those piercings but really think it over and I know you're still sure but I would say it you are set on it happening try making a deal with your parents like I did and maybe by the time you pull it off you won't even want them anymore. Just don't do anything you're gunna regret later in life! I wrote a ton- I'm sorry! ALso just a little note my belly button is still normal looking it just has a scar, but imagine if that was my nose! Good luck!

P.S, Make sure you pick a clean place to get piercings done if ou decide to...I'm not sure where you're from but I'm from cupertino,ca like bay area and I went to body exotic and monsters of rock.

i guess it depends on your parents tho and your not to young when i was 13 my mom actually pierced my noise and i guess i really cant help u unless u just save up money and go do it u self and when i mean your self some one else sorry if i didnt help tho

Hmmm...seems I answered a similar question yesterday. Sounds like your parents are fair; boy I could tell you stories of when I was a teen. I went through the same thing (14+ years ago, wow), except I didn't have understanding 'rents. Listen to them.

All you can do is do your research on each piercing, jewelry, and aftercare.  Also, being mature about it and not begging them will help.

If your parents still say no, you'll just have to wait until you're older.

Ask yourself this first.. Why do you REALLY want the piercings in the first place..to fit in, be individual, rebellion, or to have lots of holes in your face when you get old so that they droop and you have to explain that you never were able to get a great job and earn great money because people did not understand why you had so many piercings on your face ???

I like the idea of a tongue piercing and maybe even a nose. I would like these done myself. Just try to get one of them done by asking an if you do make sure you keep it cleaned. With the tongue, you have to be very careful with what you eat for quite a while but go for it. Good Luck x

my question to you is...would you be paying for them (and no not with money given to you by your parents)? Do they have to sign a consent form? If you answer no to paying for them on your own then no you do not need them....parents have enough stupid expenses for kids...If they have to sign a consent form...then wait until you are 18 or get a lawyer and get yourself emacipated.
