  1. First of all you better do some homework, $900 - $1,000. for a bike that is 27 years old!!!, give me a break, unless it has a new engine and some custom features, you need to do some research. You are 15 1/2 and willing to kick in $125.00 for ins. and $6.00 a week for gas, wow what a bargain for your parents.......NOT! If you really want a bike then how about getting a part time job and offering to pay at least half. You are "coming to the table" with no negotiating power, your best offer is "maybe" I can pay for gas and insurance, and in reality you will need your parents to pay for those things also. Your Dad wanting another bike has nothing to do with this, I mean really how often do you think you will allow him to use the bike? As a parent who loves bikes, the only and Best deal I offer my kids is this.....save your money, I will match you dollar for dollar on the purchase, but YOU pay insurance, gas, upkeep and anything else. Instead of shopping for ideas on how to convince them, how about showing you are mature and responsible, that you get a job, save your money and then approach them for some help. I would be much more likely to help you out if I knew you had put a bit of sweat into this thing you wanted SO much.

  2. You'd have to talk to them about it.

If they want to buy the motorcycle for you make sure you contribute somehow like you suggested with insurance and gas.

Or you could ask them to buy it while you get a job to pay them back.

  3. They are too dangerous and you are too young to have one.

  4. i agree with lance ask them if u can buy it and if yes then get a job or somethin and pay for gas and insurance or maybe pay them back for the motorcycle

    it works for me!
