Convince parents to get me a dirt bike?

I am 13 and trying to convince my parents to get me a dirt bike. Could you please give me some advice on how to convince them. I would be willing to pay for part of it. I am thinking of a yz125 or cr125. I am too big for anything smaller. (At 5' 11'', Im a bit to big for a kx100 or an 85)

Invest some of your money in safety equipment... like a helmet

and gloves !! Let them see your concerned about being safe.

Doctors are expensive these days !!!

Start showing an interest in local riding tracks or motocross clubs and ask you parents to take you along so you can watch.  If you keep the interest up and have the money for the bike yourself then your parents may be more inclined to let you have one yourself.  See if any of your friends race and if they do try to go along as act as pit crew as this will help you get a feel for bikes and what may be a good bike for you and will also let your parents know how keen you are.  

You are a bit big for a 85cc or kx100 and the same would be the ttr125 so you may have to get yourself a yz or cr or even kx125 but if you do just be careful as they do have a bit of power for  a beginner.  Sounds like you are going to be a very tall person when that tall at 13.

you wont kill ur self n a 125 as long as u are strong enough and you dont have to much self confidence,tell ur parents u wont get hert because thats wat parents worry about,beg them if ur really intrested in it

ok listen carefully because i know how you feel. my parents wouldnt let me get a bike either when i was younger. if you really want a bike, then you will probably have to come up with most if not all of the money. second of, DO NOT buy a yz125 or a cr125 if youve never rode before because you will get hurt... (i did). if i were you i would buy a 85 or if i had the money buy a new crf150R just to learn. 125's are not starter bikes and are EXTREMELY fast for begginers. kind of like buying a dodge viper for a 16 year old. get a 85 or 100 just to learn and then when you get a year or two of experience step up and get a 125 or a 250F. hope that this is helpful and hope you get a dirtbike.
