Convincing a governor or other political figure to appear at my charity concert?

i'm from orange county california and am doing a charity concert for the China earthquakes.

i am writing to my councilmembers, congressmen, and governor.

is it too ambition to try to get a politcal figure to attend my concert in support of the cause?

how can i do this?

i am open to any suggestions and advice.

also, are presidential candidates out of the question for supporting my cause?
