I'm a 13 year old girl. I've done Track and Field (sprinting and X-Country before, but I'm a bit of of shape right now.

I'm 5'8 and 124-128 pounds.

I've really had my heart set on starting boxing since I was 5 years old and I've never changed my mind.

I keep asking my mom but she just tells me to ask my father.

Except my dad WILL NOT LET ME, no matter what I tell him. He asked to be a boxer and he ****** up his nose and some fingers.

Only he is 43! He boxed in his twenties. He says when he boxed he wore a mouth guard and helmet and sponge in his gloves and stuff but her still got hurt.

And he says boxing is NOT FOR WOMEN. I don't think my parents understand how much I want to do this.

I also think it would be good because I am a very angry person. All the time, my mom says I hit the keyboard WAY too hard.

There are holes in my door from throwing stuff into it.

HOW CAN I CONVINCE MY DAD? WHAT R THE PROS? HES SOOO STUBBORN!!!!!!!!

  1. Boxing is a martian art, Pugelism.

Like all martial arts, they should be passed down from parent to child, this way the martial art evolves.

Your father is trying to protect you, that's good.

Learn another martial art, there are plenty, he can't disagree with them all.

Tell him you appreciate his advice, ask him what martial art he will let you do, if he won't let you be a Pugelist like him.

All martial arts share the same qualities, it is only the techniques to achieve them that differ.
