  1. tell her there r lots of poor cats in the pound.

they need somebody to get them out or else they r going to kill them.

you want to save a poor kittys life.

  2. i convinced my by telling them that i would do all the work for it and that cats are like friends they like to have owner who loves them and when nobody adopts them the pound putts them down

my mom got so sad that we got three kittens

  3. Here is my experience. I had cats as a child. I loved them but they were my parents cats. I am 28 now. In august of last year I got a kitten and named her lily. She was always aggressive and really annoying. I got her when she was 8 weeks old from a person where their cat had 3 kittens. Lily was really cute, super cute in fact! Taking her home and feeding her and caring for her was the hard part. Not only did she destroy everything, she ruined carpet and cried alot. I eventually had to move and could not take her with me so I had to leave her with a friend. I still miss her a lot but she was way too much work for me to handle. Some kittens want to play ALL the time. I suggest that you get an older cat...atleast 2 years old that wants to sit and be petted and be loved. Most kittens just want to play and attack. Plus, they need their claws. It is a tough decision but if you are ready and willing to take care of an animal I say go for it!

  4. i have the same prob and i know how u feel ok now if u believe in the secret draw on a paper a kittin and put it on a wall that u would be able to see it and think of it every time u see it .... am doing the same thing but u should also try to convice her more or even beg her in a cute way so maybe that would help and don't listen to anybody who tells u u've waited more than 10 yrs y can't u wait another more yr that means that they're teling u that u should give up and u can't coz after a year ur mom will say u've waited a yr so also another year won't make a difirence or she might tell u forget about it we didn't bruoght to a kittin last yr y would we give u one this yr,....

  5. hmmm. Well you have to make sure you keep your room clean 24/7...don't make your mom made in any way. Ask if she needs help cleaning and stuff like that. Or see if you can maybe do a trial basis...like see if their is some way you can adopt a kitty temporarily and prove to your mom that you can take care of it. Hopefully that will work.

  6. Unfortunately, college in 3 years can be a problem when you want to get a pet that lives 8 times longer than that.  If your mom doesn't want a kitten because she doesn't think you'll be responsible, then that means she would want you to take care of any pet you get, not have to take care of it herself.  So what would happen to the cat when you go to college?  Remember, when you get a pet, you're responsible for it for the rest of its life.

  7. Well, miss, I don't think you have shown her how responsible you can be. Don't suck up, but surprise her with something she wouldn't expect from you. Also, make her feel bad by telling her to think of all of the kittens in the world who are just going to get put down becuase no one wanted them, it worked with me when i wanted a chihuahua, Haha. :D

  8. Ugh, i'm sorry to hear that... I grew up with cats and I absolutely loved them. There must be other reasons that your parents just don't want cats.. What I honestly suggest is waiting until you move out, and have your own place. A 15 year old cannot take full and proper care of a kitten. Kittens require vaccines (which can sometimes cost nearly 70 dollars each) and they should also be spayed or neutered, which is usually about 100... Just ask your mom if she is serious about letting you get one, or if she is just bribing you to keep your room clean (which wouldn't be very nice of a mother to do)

  9. you won't be bored of the cat. just tell them that you can handle it. and tell them that if they get you a cat then they will not regret it. tell them that if you have a cat, then it will teach you how to be responsile for another living creature.

  10. I always find this "question" to be amazing, and a little disrespectful to the parents involved (and inconsiderate of the potential pet). The thing that many who post this question seem to ignore is that the cat (or dog) doesn't come into the family as just "your cat" or "your dog" but rather a pet that lives among EVERYONE in the family and attaches itself to EVERYONE in the family.  You admitted yourself that you had "plans to go to college".  Who will ultimately be responsible for the cat when you move out and move to a dorm or apartment where you can't have a cat?

Who will ultimately be responsible for the cost and care of the cat if you get sick, or aren't working to monetarily help pay for the cat?

If your parents have told you (and so you admit) that you won't take care of it, then they must have some basis in fact for saying such a thing.  At 15 I imagine that you enjoy going places with your friends when you choose, or are invited.  I'm sure your parents are taking all those things into consideration and may have the cats best interest at heart.  When will you have "time" to be home to play with it?  Not while your at school.  And Not while your out with friends.

I think the decision should be up to your parents as long as you are still living under their roof.  When you are out on your own, or have proven to them that you can and will take care of a cat without having to be asked to do so then I'm sure, based on what you've said, that they will allow it or you will have a cat.

  11. i want a kitten too! my parents said the same thing to me, they keep saying I'm irresponsible or something...i think you're still pretty lucky, because I still can't convince them no matter what..anyway, you can probably beg more? or convince them that you love kittens and you promise to take care good care of it and that you'd never get bored of it.....idk
