I'm interested in buying myself an iPhone 3G with my own money, but the problem is convincing my parents I'll keep to my promise to help pay for the monthly fees. What could I say to win them over?

  1. If I was in your situation, I would ask if it would be okay for me to buy my own phone and get a pre-paid plan. That way it won't affect their credit and if I missed a payment, I can pay the bill and get it up to date.

  2. There is nothing you can say. You have to prove yourself in other areas of your life. Put aside the payments for a few months so that they are available. This way your parents will see that you are committed and you will have the money available.

  3. change the deal. they can pay for the phone, and you can pay for all the monthly fees. then you're totally taking all the responsibilty and your parents will be quite convinced. gud luk

  4. Starting paying for the bill before you actually get the phone.

  5. Actions speak louder than words.

  6. there is nothing you can really say to convince your parents that you are responsible...  It is more about your actions, do you do the chores without them having to remind you, do you get good grades, do you have good reports from school, never get into trouble... but there really isn't a way to convince your parents that you are responsible... it comes with time...

  7. just  let  them  no
