Cook County Tax Increase!?!??!?

Can you believe they raised the Cook County taxes AGAIN?!?!? What, are they trying to nickle and dime us to death?

Alas, it is not small change.  And while expenses do rise, Cook County's problems are inefficient adminstration and (most would say) padded payrolls and other forms of corruption.  I only add this because someone excused the tax increase; otherwise I would avoid the political statement.

Hate to say it, but county expenses keep on going up just like your personal expenses keep on going up, and, unfortunately, taxes are the major revenue source for counties, cities, towns, etc.
