  1. Get a pan bigger then then the steak

heat it up  on a burner set med -high

heat up your oven to 350 F

    then season the steak with

garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper and some flour

brown the steak on both sides

take it out of the pan set it aside

add one pack of brown or beef gravy mix 2 times the water to the pack calls for  you can add onions and mushrooms to it just cook the mushrooms in the pan before you add the gravy and water place meat back in cover the pan with a lid or foil cook tell it get tender serve with mashed potatoes and veggies or rice or what ever

  2. You'll need

    1 cup of flour,

    2 tsp garlic powder,

    2 tsp salt,

    1 tsp black pepper.

    2 tbl Olive oil

Whole carrots (depending on how many you are feeding)

    1large onions (sliced)

Whole potatoes (depending on how many you are feeding)

    Mix dry ingredients together.

Take the meat and cover all sides in flour mixture.

In a hot skillet add 2tsp Olive oil

Sere each side (and end) until brown.

After each side (and end) is browned put meat in roasting pan. Add carrots, onions, potatoes and one can of meat or chicken stock.

Roast covered for 3 hours at 300.

Optional for meal: (I highly recommend it)

Remove meat and vegetables reserving the drippings. In a hot skillet add drippings, sliced mushrooms, cook until mushrooms are tender, the add 1/4 cup milk and 2 tsp flour. Stir until thickened, serve hot with meal.(add more flour for thicker gravy).

Round steak is a tough cut of meat and should be cooked slowly at a low temperature(actual cooking time depends on the size of the cut)

  3. Round steak is not a tender cut of meat, so it needs alot of marinating - or slow cooking.  You could try marinating it for close to 24 hours, in a zip-lock baggie, in the refrigerator;  then grill it and cut it across the grain....  Or, you can cut it into cubes and make a beef stew;  or make a pot roast out of it......

  4. If it is a top round, You just roast it at 425 for 15 minutes a pound for a medium (pink) roast beef. Just coat the meat with extra virgin olive oil first, then dust the meat on all sides with salt pepper and garlic to taste.

If it is a bottom round, it needs more time to cook and requires more seasoning.  I would make a pot roast with it by browning the meat on all sides with olive oil and then salt and pepper it.  Once brown, leave the heat on relatively high while you add about two cups tomato juice and a packet of onion soup mix.  Get a package of stew vegetables or cut up carrots and celery, white or red skin potatoes and a large onion.  Put all the vegetables in around the meat and also add some spices you like. I use Thyme, Chili powder and Rosemary for a good, well rounded flavor.  You could add some wine as well if you want but I didn't think it added that much to it.  Put the lid on and leave it for 15 minutes on high then turn down to low for 2 or 3 hours while the meat gets tender and the vegetables cook and absorb all the flavors.  Serve either choice with pieces of crusty bread and a tossed salad.  Enjoy!

  5. marinate it in worchestershire sauce and some garlic and onion powder  then bake with a onion and some garlic and some new potatoes ! and a little water or beef stock ,

  6. If you have the time, I would recommend doing it in the crock-pot.  Throw it in, add a dry onion soup envelope, no more than 1/4c. of water and some quartered potatoes, carrots, celery, etc. and have yourself a roast.  Plus the leftovers can be used to make shredded tacos, enchiladas, shepherd's pie.  Very versatile and you don't have to actively cook!
