  1. I use this product and so far I have used it on everything and have had no problem.  The name is De-Solv-it.  I buy it at Walmart and some hardware stores in my area.  It is a little pricey but it works.

  2. Rub fairy liquid into the stain, rinse under the tap and then put the clothes in with your wash. This should get rid of the stains, but it's a good idea to hang the clothes out to dry in the sun (if you can find any) as it naturally bleaches some stains.

  3. It depends on the fabric of your clothing, but I use a little dab of Dawn and it works like a charm. Put a spot on the oil spot with a little water, rub together gently, then rinse. I then launder the clothing as usual and it's gone!

  4. Try covering the mark with a piece of brown paper and ironing at a high setting

  5. I use lighter fluid for all greasy stains. You buy it from the cigarette kiosk in a small tin with a spout. Pour a little directly onto the stained area, rub gently in and wash immediately. It seems a bit scary, but it really works. Be careful using it on silk or dry clean only clothes though.

  6. dry cleaners

  7. hot wash

  8. The best degreaser that is safe for your fabrics is just normal washing up liquid like Fairy - dampen the stain then work some neat washing up liquid into the stain then put straight into a wash cycle in your washing machine.

  9. Dettol, plain and simple!  The old liquid variety - original formula used as a disinfectant.

Dab pure Dettol on a small and inconspicuous spot to test for color fastness. Rinse with water and let it dry.  If color and or quality of fabric is not affected...., liberally apply pure Dettol to the affected area and let is soak well through.  No rubbing - just wash as normal.

Works a treat on overalls, removes machine and car oil too as well as it does cooking oil.  Have not tired it on lipstick - but I bet a test will prove this too to be successful!
