  1. How long was it in the fridge? If it was three days or less it's fine. Just be sure to cook it thoroughly (which I'm sure you do)

  2. Have you checked the freshness date, and does it look fresh? Describe the smell. You know the saying, "When in doubt, throw it out."

  3. When it comes to meat especially chicken, when in doubt don't eat it. Fresh chicken should have almost no smell to it and it definitely should not have a distinct smell.

  4. i say don't cook it. what would you rather have food poisoning or chicken. its better to be safe then sorry.  and i think you are rite to be paranoid you can never be to safe

  5. chicken should NOT smell!  When in doubt, throw it out!  That's what I go by.  I had food poisoning once and I never ever want it again!

  6. When in doubt....Throw it out.

Fresh Chicken should not smell.  With beef you can trim the fat off (which goes rancid first) then give it a try; not practical with poultry

  7. Cook it... If it still smells throw it out.

  8. It depends how long you had it in the fridge . yor supposed to freeze it if you arent going to cook it right aaway...2 days tops in the fridge after you;ve taken it out of the freezer  then you really shoudl throw it out..But meat does usually have a slight smell when its raw anyway but if its a powerful odor throw it out ...mom taught me this on..."

when in doubt, throw it out!!"  lol

  9. i am right there with you.

if there is any sour smell or discoloration, i would throw it away; the packaging could have had a bad seal or a minute hole. marinating it will just mask any rotting of the meat.

better to spend a few more dollars on fresh smelling meat, than risk salmonella or worse.
