When is the proper time to 'de shell' and egg? It seems when it's either hot or cold it still is a mess to do it.

  1. straight from the pan run under a little cold water and peel, good luck x

  2. Let them cool off until they are room temp. Then crack it on the pointed side. It will be easy to get shell off.

  3. The trick is that when you boil eggs they need to be really fresh.  The older the are, the more 'sticky' they will be.  Fresh hard boiled eggs can be cracked and peeled more easily when they are cold.

  4. The fresher the egg the more likely it will not peel properly. Use older eggs.

Another thing I learned, brown eggs have a thicker shell than white eggs and are less likely to crack when cooked.

  5. that's what google is for! :)

  6. are you hard boiling or soft??

either way drain, and run under cold water if you want to make deveiled eggs or for sandwichs..if you want them warm just drain and let stand for a few minutes, peel and way you go..when you peel them its best to run under water, the water will seep between the shell and egg making it easier to peel..

how do you know when your egg is done??

add a little viegar to your water, this aids in the coagulation of the protiens..a raw egg has no centrifical balance as it is in liduid form, try spinning a raw egg,it wont stand up like a top,try spinning one that has been cooking for a while, see what happens..all else fails boil from a cold state for a bout 13 minutes.

    good luck

  7. I always had the same problem.  My mother in law told me how to do it.  Since I tried her method, I have never had a problem.

When the eggs are finished boiling, dump the boiling water out and fill the pan with cold water.  I add some ice cubes to the pan and allow the eggs to sit in the ice water for several minutes.  (This will shrink the egg inside the shell.)

They will easily peel after around 15 minutes of cold ice water.

If you prefer, you can remove them from the ice water and put them into the fridge for later.

If you are not in a hurry, skip the ice part, just run the cold water over the eggs and allow them to sit in the cold water for a few minutes.  Then  immediately place the eggs in the fridge overnight.  They will peel easily in the morning.

    Good Luck!

  8. right after i cook them i dump boiling water and let cold water run over them for 5 minutes

i peel shell under running water and never have issues

  9. I always cool the eggs completely before peeling.  One problem with eggs is that if they are very fresh, they are difficult to peel.  When the eggs are a few days old (or more) they tend to peel much easier.  To try and combat the problem, let the eggs sit in the fridge for a week before you need them.

  10. First, wait until the water boils before put the eggs in;

Second, cool down the cooked eggs under running water for couple minutes.

I'm sure you won't have any problems anymore. Hope this helps!
