Cooking with lentils?

i don't know what lentils and things like that are but what do you do with them? there just like dry beans and look awfull

Lentils are good.  Yes, they are a type of bean, but because they're so small, they cook quickly.  Add some carrots and onion, and you have a satisfying soup.  I'm not a vegetarian, so I like to add a little smoked sausage or ham to the broth.

Lentils are fantastic and a very satisfying food.  There are a ton of things that you can do with them too.  You can boil them with some veggie broth, add veggies, etc. You can add them to casseroles and soups...pre-cooked, they're good on salads too.  My favorite is Mujadara, it's great stuff.  Here are some recipes for you:

Got a lovely recipe for you, but it is a winter soup.  Is that oK?

Take 2 onions, 2 large potatoes, 2 large carrots and I medium turnip.  Grate them into a large pan, add salt and simmer until mushy.  Add 2 cups of RED lentils and simmer gently.  Leave overnight, it will thicken and is delicious.  Can give you a summer soup, but not with lentils.  Pulses are tradiitionally used for winter dishes as they are heavy and very filling.

If you do get any good lentil recipe ideas, please share them with me as this is the only decent one I know.

There is lots of vegetarian diet that include lentils or you could put some lentils into your casserole or mince to thicken it and make it go further or use them in homemade soup.

I am a vegetarian and really pasta, lentils, tofu, quorn etc are awful. A fresh, fresh salad is the best or super fresh mouth watering fruit like cherries or blueberries, water melon etc. I'd throw all those crusty lentils away. They are just dried up tummy fillers without taste.
