Question:

Cooktop Installation ideas?

Someone brought home a nice wide - cooktop, brand new GE with a downdraft. We have a old cooktop here and a bit of a smaller counter. The problem is the cabinets and everything are old - the cooktop in it right now is small/old, and the new cooktop with the downdraft are about the exact width of the top of the counter. So basically I'm curious, would it be wiser to extend the counter so the cooktop fits - perhaps move around the cabinets and make it pretty. Or leave it how it is, and just sell the cooktop? Basically is it really worth the trouble?

  1. Maybe you can using cooktop with marble or pormatoc (imitation marble)

  2. If I didn't want to re-do the kitchen I would sell the cooktop. By the way, I think the word you want for the front-to-back measurement is "depth".

If you build out the countertop you'll never be happy because you'll constantly be catching on it. I have nursed the bruises.
