It is 30 degrees (c) in my room i live in england just so you know what the temperature is. I have my curtains closed all day to stop the sun getting in. I have my window open now, my door open and a fan on but my room is NOT cooling down.

It is so hot and humid. I feel really faint and have a killer headache but my dad wont let me sleep downstairs. I feel so ill cos of the heat. Have you got any ideas on how to cool my room down?

I am sat with a bag of ice but its not helping at all lol.

Air con isn;t an option.

Oh and i have turned everything electric off that i can.

  1. I am not familiar with England, but I live in an area in the U.S. that THANKFULLY cools down at night.  I crack the window and prop my fan so it is as close to the window as possible to draw the cool air into my bedroom.  and I only close my door enough so that it's open about two inches.  That gives the warm air a place to go as the cool air is being blown in.

Also you can try freezing an ice cream pail of water and set that right in front of the fan's face.  That's what we call a poor man's air conditioner.

  2. Keep your fan on

    Windows wide open

Bedroom Door open and landing doors/windows too

Put your blanket in the fridge 20 or so minutes

If you have a sofa on you floor move it more under your fan and sleep on that with you blanket
