Question:

Cool down a room?

I spend most of my time in my room and its at the top corner of the house so in the summer it is the warmest room in the house, like an oven. Fans don't help, we haven't got air conditioning, summer in my room is basically unbearable, is there any way I can cool down my room or should I just move to the guest room for the summer? It doesn't help that my room is tiny and messy.

  1. GET A WINDOW UNIT(A/C) YOU CAN GET A 5500BTU FOR LESS THAN $100.00 EASY TO PUT IN AND WILL KEEP YOU IN THE COOL

  2. The cheapest way is to add a small window  air conditioner if possible. The problem is they tend to be noisy, especially in a small room. The expensive way is to add a wall hung two part system such as Sanyo, or Mitsubishi, where the condenser is on the ground. Everything goes through a three inch hole in the wall to the indoor section. Very quiet, and fairly expensive. Hope this helps.

  3. Since heat rises and your room is in the upper part of the house all the heat in the house can and does find its way to your room. In the winter months this is a plus but not in the summer. I have a similar situation and I sometimes find its helpful to put a fan by my window and blow the hot air thats trapped in the house out the window! Its not an instant fix but it does lower the temp by helping the hot air escape. If its still unbearable and You are able to relocate your bones to a lower level I would do so without a second thought. :-)

  4. water the house down.  i has been proved that it cools house down by 75 percent.  also if your walls are dark colored it attracts heat causing the heat to raise.  a cluttered room also adds to the mental factor making it feel even more hot and humid

  5. A window air condition would be the only thing I can think of.  Heat rises and you're at the top of the house so it's going to be toasty there.

  6. let me guess its above the garage. the cheapest way would be a window unit. call your heating and air guy out and ask about zoning to get more air flow to that room.

  7. clean the room it makes it less cramped ..get a blanket and pin it up so that it covers the window even if you have blinds.

try not to use your light, that produces heat . unplug all electricity. only leave on what you use ...yurn everything off when ur not using it that make heat.

if this doesnt work go dor one of those swamp coolers and stick it at your window....if you cant.... guest room
