  1. Depends on the room and your likes and dislikes. However, I  have done a Nautical themed room in blues and pale yellows and it turned out beautiful.

  2. They're are many ideas you can get when redecorating your room. Go on YouTube and search videos of other peoples rooms they have of tours or go on a website like KBhomes.com and they have virtual tours. PBteen has some great rooms and pictures and furniture to look at and it's great for teenagers.

The only ones I can think of are making it like a bachlorette pad. You can search it up on google and there's many ideas. Like you can create a bar table and have those mini martini glasses or champange glasses and fill them in with ur favorite drink or fruit smoothie/slushie. And have plastic plants, atmosphere lightning, vases, cd collection, plasma tv and mini home theather, couch that could turn into a bed. It's like your mini home. Another idea is to have one side of your wall a strong color for example dark blue or red or dark violet/purple and paint rest of the walls a lighter or earthy color. You can add stuff around your room that you like. For example I love planets, astrology, jellyfish, stars, and the tv show the twilight zone. I put few of my favorite posters that I like and abstract art. On the top of my wall above I put glow in the dark stars so I have something to look at.

You can also make a cafe. Few idea colors are purple, violet, black, brown, pink, etc. If you have a window you can have a drape that is striped. For a 'cafe' look you can buy artificial bagels (like this one http://www.seefred.com/cgi-bin/shop.pl/p... ) and have a cafe stand and add a fake cake you can find online or a specialty store. You can have those tea cups or coffee cups, fancy tables and chairs. You can invite your friends over to your room and hang out. Around the walls you can have posters framed like Paris or fancy words saying cafe -- something. Don't forget to decorate your bed too pretty.

There are many ideas out there think of stuff you like and get a notebook to put ur ideas in. ^_^

  3. Kayleigh - Do a little research on yourself. What do YOU like? Colors? Places to go? Things to see? If you need a bit of help, look thru mags, online, etc, and pull out pics of what you like. You'll start to see a trend. Maybe a certain color, shape, texture, etc. Once you've compiled everything, narrow it down. Work from the pieces you have - the floor type and color, an odd shape structure in the room - things you can't change due to $ or construction. Probably one of the biggest things in the room is wall color. Decide this when looking at bedding choices - and remember, material from the fabric store is a great option when making your pillows, bedskirt, chair covers, etc. unique to your room. Of course another object to consider is cost - do you have money to change things every year, or are you looking at 5 years down the road?

Just for fun, here's some ideas - Fair/circus theme - bright colors, circles, furry fabric, canopy bed.

Elegant voctorian - lace, puffy bedding with big head/foot board, dressing table with perfume bottles all done in a soft white and blues.

Garden motif - shutters at headboard, hanging plants and lamps, whitewash furniture with all kinds of floral prints as bedding, pillows, etc. Do this in cheerful yellows, lilacs, pinks.

Have fun - it's your room and unique to you. LT
