I am not exactly sure how much cash I am going to get for my first car, but in this price range, I would like to find a cool looking car that doesn't necessarily look like what it is worth. Or something that would be fun to have and drive. I was looking at some Wranglers and found a few possibilities. I was also looking at older Mustangs but then got to thinking, no AC, engine problems, and whatever else comes along with an older car. And ideas???

  1. Im in the same situation as you, well in a few months and I looked into these cars (2nd hand):

-Mustang: As you said engine problems but yea it is unreliable.

-Corvette Stingray: May sound unrealistic, but check the price, its deffinetly in your price range.

-New Lancer: This is the only new car on this list, and definetly worth it. It is sporty with the paddle-shifts and all, and to make it better you can add a turbo-charger.

-MazdaSpeed 3: Already installed turbocharger, amazing car.

  2. getba used:

    vw jetta, golf

    audi a4

    bmw 3 series/convertible

    honda prelude

    mx-5

and if you get lucky, you might be able to find a porsche boxster for about 8500-9000. it might be a bit more expensive, but its WAY more  fun to drive, pretty good mpg, pretty fast, and good looking.

  3. Older Mazda Miata MX-5s (1997 or older) are good cars and a lot of fun. Be sure to get one that has not been abused or heavily modified, as many have.

  4. yeah what she said i was gonna say get a 01 to 03 eclipse i had a 01 but wrecked it. i only paid 8 k for it. i had that car for 3 years and the only thing i had to replace was the battery other than that it was one of the best cars i've ever owned. i just bought a SRT 4. Check out the pics of my wreck and new car www.myspace.com/cristiansand

  5. you could get an old eclipse for that price, maybe a honda civic or accord. my friend bought a 97 accord for 7K and its been a great car!!

any older car is bound to have problems but remember this is your first car. its basically your practice car. so you dont want something nice because its only going to get lots of dents and dings.

  6. most cars you can get for that price range are going to have thier problems, older toyotas and hondas are very reliable but they are not fun, especially toyotas thier about as fun as vanilla ice cream. Like the first answer said I would look for an late 90's even early 00's Mitsu eclipse. Very fun to drive, cool looking and pretty relaible, you might even find a GT in that price range, which would be great. On top of that there is plenty of aftermarket stuff avialble to personalize it.
