Cool uncle or respectful; Can I be both? PLEASE HELP!!!!?

Question

I am the cool uncle figure to 4 children, ages 3,5 and 10 and 2 more are coming along the way. But the children joke around so much with me, they think I am one of the kids because I play with them so much when they're around.

I tickle them .. through them in the air.. take them to McDonalds.. They love me .. but at the same time, I feel like I am losing my respectful figure in front of them

Would I be able to discipline them and be the respectful figure they listen to while be the FUN COOL uncle they love.

By the way, I am a 24 year old professional with a doctoral degree and a management position at my work place..

They will love you, but you can discipline them and let them know you are serious through the tone of your voice.

They will know they have misbehaved when you are really angry.

my uncle was really fun and brought me swimming and outdoors too...but when he scolds me, i feel really guilty as he treated me the best....or to say, he pampers me the most.

Your nieces and nephews will feel the pinch when the Mcdonalds and such stop....

The rule in my family is that extended family is not just authorized to discipline other family member's kids, it is expected.  I have had to pull a car over and spank all three of my nephews but they still love me and we still have a lot of fun.

They will respect you if you are consistent and discipline them when it's necessary.  Keep doing what you are doing!
