My husband and I decided to take our kids on a cruise this year and since Easter is coming up we thought we would have the Easter Bunny bring it for them....I thought I could make one big basket up for the whole family, instead of individual for each child (six), but I don't know what to put in it that would be a cool way for them to find out that they are going...any ideas?

  1. Both of these ideas are great! You could also inculde some sun block, sun glasses for each of the kids, flip flops for when they're on the way to the pool and disposible cameras for each one (depending on their ages).

I'm taking my four daughter's this summer too. We're celebrating Sweet 16's for two of them. I'm going to have the cruise line put "Happy Birthday" decor in their room one day.

  2. omg, that is so cool.  Okay so what you do, is take the big basket and put a model cruise boat in it with an easter bunny on top.  Then you could have relaxing waves in the backround, and maybe record a commercial saying wouldn't it be nice, blah blah blah,  Good, cause your going on a cruise!!!!!!

  3. Get several envelopes and in each one put a picture from the cruise ship you are going on. You can get these from the cruise books at travel agency. Each one could say something like your room for 1 week or your ship for 1 week. Also if you can get pictures of where you are going. You could also do this with those plastic eggs that come apart instead of envelopes. Some of the eggs, you could put some money in them so they have their own money to spend in the ports. What a great idea you have to let them know about the cruise. You are very clever.

  4. Aww thats cute! Put in a big clear container of water and a map of the itinerary. If you wanted to go further, go to your local Build-a-Bear Workshop and buy any bear thats blue or to represent your cruise line. Then make sure you buy a sound to go with it that says something like "All Aboard!"

I'm not sure of your budget, but any of these ideas is sure to work!

    Have a good trip!

  5. Instead of a basket I would use a mid size piece of luggage. I would prepare it with all the ribbons and Easter decorations. Put the luggage in a visible place (like the dinning table) opened just like a treasure chest.  Buy things the kids will be using in the cruise like sun block, caps, bathing suits, shorts, etc.  I would wrap each individually, (I love when they make that kind of mess). Scatter some plastic eggs with clues or maybe a word each saying that they will go in a cruise. They will have to look for the eggs, get together, and form the sentece. Ex. ALL  THE FAMILY  IS GOING  ON A  CRUISE SHIP  ON ------------/   I did this once with our first trip to Disneyworld.  I bought and prepared some backpacks and prepare all the luggage without they knowing anything.  Since I am a teacher, we went to school together that day with a friend because my car "was broken". At the end of the day I went to my mom's house to see her as we usually did three or four days a week (she lived next to the airport). And there I gave them a bath and changed clothings because we were going to have dinner together.  A taxi came by and when they saw us getting into the airport road they were full of questions, in that moment I gave them the new backpacks, with Disney characters and we told them. It was a wonderful day. They are grown up now but they never forget this day.
