I heard that, another way to conserve energy and use to keep cold places like siberia, canada and any artic looking place is....if we go deeper...earth starts to get hotter, in fact the mantle is hot enough and everything is molten stste. so if we dig a hole inside a earth from canada that goes across russing, cross sectionally, we can get enough warm air. will this effect melting of artic, weird idea..but can it be done?

  1. drying do dig through the earth would be suicide we have no known materal able to withstand the temperatures. its impossible with todays technology.

  2. switchon ur blower.

  3. Siberia is doing a very good job of warming without having to dig holes in it - average temps have gone up by 4 degrees C in recent years, more than most places.

In places like Siberia geothermal energy is often used.  For example, deep holes are bored into the earth and cold water is pumped in, as it descends through the pipes it's warmed by the earth and comes back to the surface as hot water.  Several large buildings such as schools and hospitals are heated and powered this way.

  4. I suppose in principle it is not impossible, but the cost end engineering difficulties would make the Apollo program look like child's play. Of course it would totally mess up the natural environment too.
