Coolavanny Bert and Razldazl Rioga succeed in the Williamhill.com Greyhound Derby 2nd Rnd Heat 1 and 2
Wimbledon hosted the Grade OR Williamhill.com Greyhound Derby 2nd Round Heat 1 and 2 on 4th May, 2012. The results of these two heats satisfied the punters as the favourite bagged the victory over a distance of 480 metres.
The first heat started at 20:00 GMT as the six hounds took the track and completed the course for £150.
Coolavanny Bert, Mill Maximus and Taylors Cruise raced as joint favourites, as they raced with winning odds of 5 to 2.

Coolavanny Bert proved he was better than his adversary, whereas Mill Maximus and Taylors Cruise finished in second and third place, respectively.
The son of Wheres Pedro, out of Mercury Queen, demonstrated his brisk pace and took the track by storm. He finished 1 ½ lengths before the runner-up in 28.62 seconds, while Mill Maximus finished in 28.74 seconds.
Taylors Cruise fell a narrow short-head after Mill Maximus and completed the course in 28.74 seconds.
Trained by J. Gardner, the winner picked up the pace as soon as he broke from trap 4.
The Heat 2 took place at 20:15 GMT where Mags Gamble, Bridge Bandit, Dixies Air, Farloe Mysterio, Razldazl Rioga and Farloe Iceman fought to take home the prize of £150 over 480 metres.
Razldazl Rioga, son of Brett Lee, out of Razldazl Pearl, lived up to the expectations of his connections, as he with the favoured odds of 6 to 4 and succeeded over, Farloe Iceman, by an immense margin of 5 ¼ lengths in an impressive 28.54 seconds.
Farloe Iceman, son of Premier Fantasy, out of Farloe Reserve, finished in 28.96 seconds.
The D. Ruth hound broke from trap 4, and used his brisk pace to his advantage, as he stole the show and made it to the front of the pack.
The third place was secured by Farloe Mysterio, son of Hondo Black, out of Farloe Charity, who fell ¾ of a length behind the runner-up. He entered from trap 6, and completed the race in 29.02 seconds.
It seems like 4 was the lucky number for these two races as both the hounds broke from trap 4.
