Cooling fan on 01 malibu wont work?

the cooling fan only comes on when I turn on the ac

Sence you have two sensor and one is for the a/c unit and you say it working, then you need the sensorthat reads the coolant temperature ,They just s***w into the side of the engine block not hard to fix at all. It might cost you around 20. to 30. bucks.

fan relay one of the many problems you will have with that car also temp. sensor, basically with your cooling systems

The temperature sending unit that reads the coolant temperature in the block may be bad.  (Cheap part to replace.)
