  1. I think I see where you're going.  A line is one dimensional and a plane is two-dimensional.  Each may be defined by an equation.  Space is three dimensional but the term "space" is ambiguous.  The answer to your question depends on what kind of space you're talking about;  a cube, sphere, dodecahedron.

    Of course these volumes are all bounded, and lines and planes are not.  I'd posit that unbounded space is unique and therefore needs no equation, since it's unneccessary to differentiate it.

    I think this is more metaphysics than coordinate geometry.
