Coors Guys & Dolls Cup heats

Yarmouth hosted four heats of the Coors Guys & Dolls Cup Monday. The heats were split up into two groups, the dogs and the b*****s.
Coors Guys & Dolls Cup - Dogs Heat 1
Mullpark Flash took the first dog’s heat with a time of 28.48 seconds. Ridgedale Buzz and Daves Duke, tied for second, a length behind Flash, who led the entire race after getting off to an excellent start.
Taking fourth place was the 2-1 race favourite, Clodeen Seven O, who raced from trap six, and moved out too wide to have a chance to win the race. Old Road Sammy took fifth place, and Fastaway Tipoki finished last.
Coors Guys & Dolls Cup - Dogs Heat 2
The second dog’s heat went to Big Black Panda, the 6-4 race favourite. He beat Cloncunny Jono by 3¾ lengths with a time of 28.38. Panda got off to a decent start, but didn’t take the lead until the midway point of the race.
Third place went to Inch Prince, and fourth to Joe Premier. Joe got off to the best start of the group, and led the race to the halfway point when Panda took it from him. Some jostling between Prince and Joe put them both out of contention for first place.
Coming in fifth was Cunning Laddie, and in sixth was Hartwood Raven.
Coors Guys & Dolls Cup - b*****s Heat 1
Jumgy won the first b***h’s heat with a time of 28.18. Jumgy looked very good in this race, taking the lead early, and holding on to beat Azure by 3¾ lengths.  Azure and third place finisher, Darjina, were both slow from the traps, and were lucky to finish
in the top three.
Tremar West End finished in fourth place, a neck behind Darjina, and the 13-8 race favourite, Pollardstown Lor, finished in fifth place after baulking on the second bend. River Flyer was last in this heat.
Coors Guys & Dolls Cup - b*****s Heat 2
The second b*****s' heat was won by Ballyhill Pixie, who finished with a time of 28.49. She beat the 2-1 race favourite, Newtown Ruby, by 2¾ lengths after taking the lead on the third bend. Ruby started off well, and kept to the inside, but couldn’t fend
off Pixie long enough to win the race.
Third place went to Glebe House, and fourth to Black Lena. Dempsey Racer and Famous Flyer finished fifth and sixth respectively after crowding each other on the fourth bend.
