In a dramatic turn of events, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 spirit and went on to hold the Brazilian’s for a complete ninety minutes and hence the
game went into overtime, with neither side breaking the deadlock in the opening ninety minutes.
With both teams looking to be drained of every last drop of energy, they were opting to go on and pass the ball back and forth in order to try and create an opening of some sort.
However, with the two teams not really going anywhere, the Brazilians went on to make a change. Lucas M was brought on to replace Ganso, in the hopes that his pace and stamina would help create something in the game.
In the 102nd minute, both sides were dropped down to ten men. Alcaraz went in very late with a tackle and then went on to grab a players leg, after failing to get the ball off of him. Lucas L, went on to try and win the ball during the chaos,
only for havoc to break out. Both teams were looking to go at it and the referee ended up sending both Lucas and Alcaraz of the pitch, by showing them reds. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-c22528 seemed to have done nothing wrong, but there wasn’t anything that was going to change the referees
mind.
As extra time progressed, both teams started to just look forward to the penalty shoot out, since they became aware of the fact that with no energy left and with only ten men on the pitch it was highly unlikely for either of them to get a breakthrough in
the game.
Right before the end of the extra time, Pato was taken off and Elano was brought on to replace the forward.
In the 117th minute, Estigarribia went on to play Valdez on with a brilliant pass, but the strikers volley form 18 yards out sailed wide of the mark.
As a result, both teams went down to the half way line, with a penalty shoot out now being the only way out.
