Copa http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Venezuela-c3039 Player Ratings – Brazil
Brazil took on Venezuela in what was their first game of the Copa America, this time around. After dominating the game for the most part, the team that was being tipped as the favourites to win the match, ended up drawing with a score line of 0-0.
Here’s a look at how the Brazilian squad held up.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Julio-Cesar-c19961: Julio Cesar had a pretty solid performance, despite not having a lot to do in the game. The keeper had to basically stand still for the most part and just gather the loose balls every time he needed to.
Andre http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c32532: Impressed throughout the game, had a couple of good touches and was good on the overlap. However, his selfishness could have potentially cost Brazil the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903: Made a very cynical tackle, for which he was shown a yellow. However, that tackle ended up preventing Brazil from conceding, so in the end the card was a well earned one.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucio-c22597: Didn’t have much to do, but when he did have to put in a foot or two, he did so with ease.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904. Didn’t really have the cutting edge performance that is expected from him, but, was decent overall.
Lucas: Solid in the middle, played his passes with ease, but showed his limitations going forward.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ramires-c30523: Played as a holding midfielder, however, he had to be taken off in the second half, due to an injury that he picked up. It is still unclear as to how bad the injury is, as there has been no word about the player as yet.
Ganso: Was the only attacking midfielder for the team, but, ended up largely disappointing. Didn’t manage to play a whole lot of killer passes and was just playing a very standard game of football.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robinho-c31382: Hit the post with a fine effort and made some brilliant runs. Despite that, was taken off, to brin in Fred in the second half.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Neymar-c27639: Was the heart of the team going forward, killed the opponents with pace, but still couldn’t help score a goal.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexandre-Pato-c4901: Got into brilliant positions throughout the game, first touch let him down on a number of occasions. Showed great potential, while confirming that there is yet room for improvement in the player.
Substitutes:
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-c22528, Elano: Between the three of them, they barely got hold of the ball and didn’t really do much that could be noted or highlighted.
