Peru took on Venezuela in a third place play-off, in the Copa America 2011. Both teams were looking to end their tournament on a high and somehow secure the third spot, in hopes of going home with a medal of some sort. The match kicked off with both sides
going at it, however with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peru-c2981 capitalizing on crucial moments during the game and with Rincon picking up a red card, there really wasn’t much that Venezuela could do, to get back in the game.
Vega: The keeper started of the game in decent form, however near the end of it, he seemed to fall apart and ultimately let four goals past him.
Rosales and Cichero: The two full backs played decent, but couldn’t help contain the pressure from their opponents. At the same time, their support play wasn’t very effective and didn’t help their midfield much. Cichero picked up a yellow card in the game.
Rey and Vizcarrondo: The centre halves played decent initially, but later on as Guerrero and Chiroque got into top gear, they couldn’t do much to silence their opponents, who ran right past them time and time again. Rey was shown a yellow for a clumsy tackle
during the game.
Rincon and Gonzalez: the two central midfielders played below average and couldn’t control the flow of the game or the proceedings on the night. Rincon ultimately picked up a red card in the second half and that led to his team falling apart near the end
of the game.
Sijas and Orozco: The two side midfielders tired to introduced a little creativity and flair to the game, but failed to do much damage.
Miku and Maldonado: The Venezuelan strikers tired their best to get something for their team. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miku-c25758 looked the liveliest of the Venezuelans in the game and came close on a number of occasions. Unfortunately, his efforts amounted to nothing in the end.
