off against each other in the third place, play off, to determine just where they would lay once the tournament came to a close.
The match kicked off with both teams looking to have a go at each other, early on in the game. However, with both the sides looking to get th better of their opponents, they ended up cancelling each other out for the most part.
In the 19th minute, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peru-c2981 had a free kick awarded to them. The ball was curled into the box and Revoredo almost managed to leap the highest but ended up falling just inches short.
In the 27th minute, Peru went on to produce a brilliant piece of football. The ball eventually fell to Chiroque, who took a pop at goal. Unfortunately for him, Vega managed to stay big and tipped the ball behind for a corner in the end.
In the 29th minute of the game, Maldonado went on to place the ball into the back of the net and as soon as he was about to celebrate, the referee blew his whistle and disallowed the goal, since the player was in an offside position.
In the 42nd minute, just when it looked like the game was heading into a stalemate, Peru went on to take the lead. Guerrero placed a low pass towards Chiroque, who had the simplest of tasks to place the ball into the back of the net. As a result,
the thirty one year old went on to score his first goal for his country, while helping his side take a giant leap towards finishing third in the Copa America.
Soon after the first half came to an end, with Peru on top of the game.
