The second half started with Sevilla looking down trodden in morale as they were denied a goal line goal according to their protests towards the referee near the end of the first half. Nonetheless, the second half kicked off with Real Madrid in the lead
as the score line rested at 0-1. Thus it was Sevilla who began the second half looking the hungrier of the two sides.

his shot blocked by a wall of Sevilla players as Real Madrid lost possession of the ball.
In the 48th minute of the match it was Alexis who was penalized by the referee for chopping down Cristiano Ronaldo to the ground as the winger was about to race away with the ball. It was a cynical challenge to say the least but the referee only
produced a yellow card as a punishment for the Sevilla midfielder.
In the 51st minute of the match, Sevilla were dealt an injury blow as Romaric was substituted in place of Renato from the home side’s substitute’s bench. It was an ill-timed injury for Sevilla as Romaric was looking like an essential cog in the
Sevilla midfield in the second half.

foul on Renato as the game became littered with yellow cards and tentative midfield play.
In the 59th minute it was Marcelo who released Mesut Ozil clean through on the Sevilla goal but Palop came out and blocked the German midfielder’s shot. The follow up fell to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Xabi-Alonso-c37045 whose strike just missed the Sevilla goal by inches as the

In the 68th minute, Real Madrid went ahead with their second change of the match as Angel Di Maria replaced the goal scorer http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Karim-Benzema-c20350 in the Real attack. The substitution was accompanied by a change in tactics as well as Ronaldo took up Benzema’s
place as the spearhead of the Real Madrid attack as Maria occupied the Portuguese winger’s berth on the left side of the Real Madrid midfield.

square it to Ozil, whose eventual shot was blocked by the Sevilla defense.

The Spanish goalkeeper went down in pain at first but then quickly recovered to rush off the field as it all turned
sour at the final whistle.
Nonetheless, it was Real Madrid who eventually won the match by a single goal.
